Washougal School District is seeking a highly qualified educator for a 1.0 FTE Elementary Dual Language (Spanish) 4th/5th Grades Co-Taught Classroom Teacher position at Hathaway Elementary for the 2026-27 school year.
Position begins on August 24, 2026, with a salary range of $66,137 to $124,653 based on the 2025-26 salary schedule and placement based upon education and experience.

Required endorsements include an OSPI/WA state Teaching Certificate with an Elementary Education endorsement.
Essential functions of a classroom teacher include developing and maintaining a safe and effective learning environment, planning and implementing an instructional program designed to meet individual student needs, evaluating student performance and progress, using necessary and appropriate instructional methods and materials, establishing and implementing clear classroom procedures, routines and expectations, providing for the personal and social growth of students, making referrals for assistance where appropriate, participating in team planning focused on instructional practices and student learning, communicating student progress to parents/guardians, maintaining appropriate student records, directing the activities of assigned non-certificated personnel, participating in staff meetings and other activities deemed necessary by the District and/or building principal, working cooperatively with a building team in planning, supporting and providing instruction, demonstrating positive relationship skills with students, families and district staff, maintaining ongoing and open communication, encouraging and providing the structure for ongoing, meaningful involvement of families and community members in the classroom and school, using technology to provide challenging instruction to students of all learning levels, and possessing knowledge of and adhering to Governing Policies and District Regulations and Procedures.
Other functions include serving on staff committees as needed and performing related tasks consistent with the scope and responsibility of the position.
Qualifications include a valid Washington State teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements as required by law, ability to implement classroom management procedures for large and small groups of students, providing an environment conducive to learning, ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written and oral form, ability to integrate relevant technology for the purpose of student learning across curricular areas, flexibility and adaptability in varied conditions and settings, ability to assess the needs of students and implement effective lessons to meet those needs through the use of appropriate instructional materials, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of staff and stakeholders, ability to establish positive relationships with students, in a mutually respectful, supportive and accessible manner, ability to relate positively to students and adults of varying socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic backgrounds, learning styles and/or disabilities, and ability to process information in order to make sound judgments and decisions.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in job related area.
Certificates & Licenses: WA/OSPI Teaching Certificate with an Elementary Education endorsement, Valid First Aid Certificate.
Clearances: WSP/FBI Background Clearance, WA State Sexual Misconduct Inquiry.
