The Finish Department Operator is responsible for operating machinery and processing fabric within the Finish Department of a textile manufacturing facility. This role supports production goals by ensuring products meet quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Move pallets of fabric throughout the department.
- Follow detailed production specifications and work instructions.
- Load and unload fabric into and from finishing machines.
- Operate production equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect fabric to ensure finished products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Clean machines and work areas throughout the shift.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Basic industrial sewing skills preferred.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for the duration of the scheduled shift.
- Ability to work in wet and slippery conditions.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs as needed.
- Ability to regularly push and pull pallet jacks and carts weighing up to 1,000 pounds.
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to grasp, manipulate, and handle materials and equipment.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, heat, moisture, and chemicals. Employees are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety guidelines.
