Customer Service Representative - Wasilla
UMV is a private, employee-owned company contracted with the Alaska DMV to process vehicle related transactions and identification services. Our team helps eliminate long DMV lines by providing fast, accurate, and friendly service to Alaskans.
This role is ideal for professionals with 2+ years of customer-facing experience handling financial transactions, such as bank tellers, hotel front desk agents, dealership staff, or administrative customer service professionals.
Success in this role requires attention to detail, strong multitasking ability, and a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
Who We're Looking ForSuccessful UMV team members typically have:
- 2+ years of in-person customer service experience
- Experience handling payments or financial transactions
- Strong attention to detail when reviewing documents
- Comfort using multiple computer systems simultaneously (40+ WPM preferred)
- Ability to stay organized and accurate in busy environments
- Willingness to learn complex procedures and accept coaching
- Confidence suggesting additional services when appropriate
- Great interpersonal skills to work as part of a team
- Preferred backgrounds include:
Bank Teller, Hotel Front Desk, Car Dealership, Title Clerk, Loan Processing, Administrative Customer Service, DMV Experience
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Alaska driver's license or
- 2+ years of in-person customer service experience
- Experience using computers to assist customers
- Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
You will assist customers with DMV transactions, maintaining high accuracy and professionalism while offering additional services.
This position combines the transaction accuracy of a bank teller with the customer service of a hotel front desk professional.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Processing vehicle related transactions and identification services
- Reviewing legal documents to ensure compliance with DMV regulations
- Using multiple computer systems to complete transactions
- Processing payments through a point-of-sale system
- Offering customers additional services beyond the basic DMV transaction
- Working closely with teammates to resolve complex transactions
Accuracy & Compliance Expectations:

Work is audited internally and by the Alaska DMV
UMV's accuracy standard is 98%
High performers may qualify for audit accuracy bonuses and advancement opportunities.
ScheduleFull-time (40 hours per week) with some overtime as needed
Office hours:
Monday – Saturday, 8:45 AM – 6:00 PM
Sunday is always off
Second day off varies based on schedule rotation
Schedules posted monthly
Customer volume varies seasonally. Summer months often have twice as many or more transactions than winter months.
CompensationStarting Pay: $20 per hour
