Are you a graduate (or an advanced undergraduate) student, with a solid background in fisheries and/or ocean sciences, and interested in academic work? Consider joining the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) as a grader. CFOS is looking for student graders to assist instructors teaching high‑enrollment CFOS courses (FISH, MBI, OCN courses). In this role, you will work directly with faculty to assist with assignment grading and managing discussion boards.

- Graduate graders must have a solid background in the subject of the class they are grading. Undergraduate graders must have earned an A (or B with instructor approval) in the course they are grading or in a relevant higher‑level course.
- Use online collaboration tools.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Complete UA Tier 1 Required Training within 2 weeks of the hiring date and complete FERPA training before the first day of grading (time spent in training is compensated).
- Log hours during each pay period in UA Online.
This position is a part‑time (maximum 20 hrs/week), Student Assistant 2 and located on the UAF Troth Yeddha campus in Fairbanks. We will consider students located at other UA campuses (i.e., Juneau, Anchorage, Seward, etc.) if the applicant has the relevant experience. Pay depends on academic experience and adheres to the student union contract agreement ($18.50 for undergraduates, $24.50 for master students, $29 for PhD students).
