Job Summary

Koniag Energy & Water is seeking a Security & Communications Project Manager to lead field projects involving video surveillance, associated networking, communications infrastructure, tower work, and physical security systems. This role owns project execution from turnover or award through testing, customer acceptance, and closeout, coordinating clients, technicians, tower crews, electricians, network and security specialists, vendors, subcontractors, and company leadership.

The successful candidate understands low-voltage field construction and IP-based security systems, manages remote and logistically complex work, and maintains strong control of safety, scope, schedule, cost, documentation, and customer expectations.

  • Manage multiple security, surveillance, communications, networking, tower, and related low-voltage or electrical projects from planning through customer acceptance and closeout.
  • Develop andmaintainexecution plans, budgets, schedules, labor forecasts, procurement plans, site logistics, submittal logs, testing plans, risk registers, and closeout plans.
  • Review contracts, drawings, specifications, estimates, proposals, and customer requests; identifyscope gaps, system-interface issues, technical concerns, and commercial risk.
  • Coordinate technicians, tower crews, electricians, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors; ensure prerequisites, access, equipment, materials, tools, and information are available.
  • Track committed cost, labor productivity, percent complete, cost to complete, forecast at completion, billing status, change exposure, and gross-margin risk; elevate variances early.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, equipment approvals, procurement, long-lead items, change orders, field records, customer decisions, and turnover documentation.
  • Support planning and issue resolution for IP cameras, video management systems, network switches, copper and fiber cabling, wireless links, power and grounding, equipment enclosures, access control, intrusion detection, intercom or communications systems, and system integration.
  • Coordinate tower and elevated work, including qualified resources, rescue and safety planning, access, lifting or rigging, weather constraints, inspections, and site-specific requirements.
  • Lead project and customer meetings; document decisions, action owners, due dates, testing requirements, outages, cutovers, and acceptance criteria.
  • Plan Alaska and remote-site mobilization, lodging, freight, badging, escorts, operational constraints, and coordination with owners and other contractors.
  • Verify systems are installed, labeled, configured, tested, documented, and turned over in accordance with approved design and customer requirements.
  • Promote compliance with safety, cybersecurity, quality, licensing, customer, and regulatory requirements applicable to each project.
  • Maintain productive client relationships and support estimates, proposals, site walks, lessons learned, and follow‑on opportunities when requested.
Required Qualifications
  • At least five years of project management, construction management, or equivalent project‑lead experience in electronic security, communications, networking, tower, low‑voltage, or related field work.
  • Demonstrated experience managing field crews, subcontractors, procurement, budgets, schedules, changes, testing, client communication, and project closeout.
  • Working knowledge of IP video surveillance and networking fundamentals, structured cabling, fiber or wireless communications, power and grounding, and construction drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to interpret project financial information and produce reliable cost‑to‑complete and completionforecasts.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project scheduling, cost‑control, and document‑management tools.
