JOB SUMMARY:

The Telecom Lead reports to the IS Operations Manager and is accountable for implementing and maintaining a stable, secure and efficient network infrastructure, ensuring connectivity for all users in Alaska with a focus on production operations and operations technology requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with all departments to meet network requirements for the Anchorage office and Data Center, North Slope activity, field work, and upcoming construction seasons and production facilities.
  • Work with Telecom engineering within the Development team as the architect and rollout the permanent facilities; ensure a smooth transition from engineering to operations.
  • Develop a system performance monitoring process to diagnose and resolve network issues, optimize performance, and uphold Santos security standards.
  • Ensure Alaska infrastructure meets or exceeds SMS Operating Standards and Core Business Processes.
  • Maintain a robust, functional and efficient network infrastructure for the Alaska Business Unit (BU).
  • Manage a technical team to ensure timely resolution of regional network incidents and requests.
  • Deliver requirements to enable Alaska production operations to maintain high uptime.
  • Proactively monitor the regional firewall to minimize risks of unauthorized equipment connections and user access.
  • Identify and recommend improvements aligned with Client IS strategy.
  • Ensure timely resolution of regional Firewall incidents and requests.
  • Conduct site field visits to verify environments are functioning as expected.
  • Follow the Santos change management process.
  • Perform network configuration, routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor and manage switches, firewalls, controllers and other network devices; lead upgrades and installations.
  • Effectively manage technical team delivery and ensure compliance with SMS Operating Standards and Core Business Processes.
  • Delegate deliverables across direct reports and develop team members through on-the-job deliverables, projects and training.
  • Track KPIs for team and network; update and maintain network documentation, diagrams and configuration repositories (Firewall Maintenance, Palo Alto).
  • Ensure regional processes and procedures align with SMS; maintain project portfolio and seek continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Adhere to network security policies and contribute to deployment of new devices and systems.
  • Develop plans to deliver business requirements on time, to a high standard and within budget; support stakeholders and resolve issues.
  • Maintain a safety-focused mindset and participate in a zero-incident safety culture.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
  • 7+ years’ experience in a Corporate IT position, with 5+ years leading a team
  • Lead experience in a large global company
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • CCNP Certification
  • Experience with Cisco switching and routing, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Wireless, 802.11x
  • Experience with SDN, ISE, DNA and project management
  • Strong experience in: VMware, Citrix Xen App/Xen Desktop, Windows Server 2012 & 2016, SCOM & SCCM
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in an Oil & Gas environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple assignments
  • ITIL v3 (or higher) Foundations Certification
  • Experience with Power Shell scripting, Active Directory, Azure, AWS, Service-Now, Office 365
  • Commissioning of development systems into production
  • Experience with Netscalers, Power Shell scripting, Office 365, Net App, firewall configuration, App Sense
  • Strong understanding of Cyber Security best practices (e.g., RBAC)
