PRN License Practical Nurse - LPN

Essential Functions / Responsibilities

• Provide wound‑related patient care under RN/Provider direction per BLS and approved protocols.
• Assist with patient intake and discharge.
• Provide assistance with case management under RN direction in accordance with state regulations.
• Gather patient information.
• Gather necessary equipment and supplies for RN or provider.
• Report quality of care issues to the Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Communicate with team members regarding therapeutic interventions to ensure quality of care.
• Perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy duties as needed after completing required training.
• Perform hyperbaric safety director duties after completing required training.
• Function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) in accordance with policy.
• Perform additional duties as delegated.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program or state‑approved educational program.
• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of practice, maintained throughout employment.
• Two (2) or more years of experience as LPN/LVN, including at least one (1) year in a SNF or LTACH setting.
• Wound care experience preferred.

• Demonstrated competency in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Organizational, prioritization and time‑management skills.
• Basic knowledge of regulatory/accreditation requirements for healthcare organizations.
• Strong interpersonal, listening, oral and written communication skills.
• Customer service and follow‑up skills.
• Ability to multi‑task and work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Team‑work and problem‑solving skills.
• Calmness in all situations.
• Working knowledge of computerized nursing systems.

Being in a stationary position for extended periods of time (≥4 hours). Viewing computer screen for extended periods (≥4 hours). Keying on a computer for ≥4 hours. Moving about, reading, communicating, writing. Color perception and both close and distance vision. Lifting or moving items up to 20 pounds and up to 75 pounds with equipment assistance. Pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, grasping or touching with hands.

Normal office environment, primarily indoors. Patient care environment with exposure to hazards such as blood‑borne pathogens, toxic chemicals, and flammable gases. Exposure to mechanical equipment and proximity to moving objects.
