Position Summary

The Instrument Fitter is responsible for laying out, assembling, installing, or maintaining pipe systems, pipe supports, or related hydraulic or pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, or industrial production processing systems.

Schedule

4 weeks ON 2 weeks OFF

  • 80.5 hours per week

Essential Job Functions
  • Fabricate and install supports, braces, and hangers for tube tray
  • Mount and install instrument devices
  • Layout and install instrument stands, and supports
  • Layout and install various size tubing
  • Read and interpret drawings and P&IDs
  • Understand principles of measurement as applied to instrumentation
  • Knowledge of instrumentation tools and equipment
  • Identify and proper use of instrumentation materials
  • Proficient in measuring and calculating
  • Other duties as assigned
Required

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education:

    High School diploma or equivalent. Vocational training/certification or other postsecondary education directly relative to this position.
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
  • Five (5) years’ experience with the installation of common oilfield instrumentation, associated tubing, valves, and drains.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal

  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must be self-motivated, punctual, and able to work independently
Physical Demand/Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to type, talk, and hear, sit, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Visual Acuity: must be adequate to perform all required tasks in a safe manner.
Work Environment Characteristics
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but may be loud on occasion.
  • Work is usually done at a client facility or job site.
