ASRC Federal Communications is seeking an Electrician for our ISS2 contract supporting our Air Force customer. This position is located Eareckson Air Station (EAS).
This is a rotational position in which the selected employee will work a schedule with 3 months on shift at a time, 1 month off, at Eareckson Air Station (EAS), located in Shemya, AK. While working on-site housing is provided in the form of a dormitory facility. All meals are furnished through the cafeteria. Transportation to EAS from Anchorage, AK is provided by government sponsored aircraft.
This is a negotiated union position.
Provide installation, alteration, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment within the electrical construction industries. Will be working with power generation and large area power distribution.
Essential Duties & Job Functions- Responsible for installation and construction with some maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment
- Knowledge of the proper use of standard wire, conduit, fittings and hardware commonly found in industrial plants.
- Read and understand conduit drawings, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
- Responsible for use and care of the tools and equipment commonly employed in industrial construction, including but not limited to:
- hydraulic/electric benders
- knockout punch sets
- cable puller, meggers
- hi-pot equipment
- volt meters
- multi-testers
- ammeter
- Able to set and coordinate over‑current protective devices, size feeder circuits and basic understanding to work on systems across the island.
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Journeyman Electrician's License
- Ability to perform associated mathematical calculations.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of safety management
- Strong MS Office and other computer skills
- Knowledge of pertinent local, state and federal laws, ordinances, codes, and rules
- Ability to speak, write and read English.
- Must have state drives licenses and acceptable record.
- Must pass a background check, drug screening, fingerprints, and a fit‑for‑duty physical exam; candidates must be medically cleared for long‑term residency in a remote location with limited access to healthcare.
- Candidates must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
