Job Overview
Electrician Lead – Anchorage, Alaska (Joint Base Elmendorf‑Richardson). Non‑exempt, full‑time, day shift. Compensation $59.85 per hour. Anticipated start date August 25, 2026.
Responsibilities- Delegate tasks and provide guidance to the Structures team.
- Inspect, operate, and test industrial lighting and other electrical equipment, diagnosing and repairing malfunctions.
- Replace lamps, ballasts, receptacles, switches, and perform re‑lamping repairs.
- Inspect, install, and maintain grounding and lightning protection systems.
- Perform minor electrical installations and repairs, including outlets, circuit breakers, sensors, and GFCI devices.
- Conduct routine maintenance to ensure lighting systems operate in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Plan and layout repair work using diagrams, blueprints, and maintenance manuals.
- Operate lift equipment necessary for servicing lights; must handle a 1‑ton pickup or bucket truck with trailer.
- Work from heights, ladders, and man lifts; distinguish wire colors.
- Motivate and guide team members to reach work goals.
- Assist Quality Control and Safety departments in training and inspections.
- Maintain records of repair activities using mobile and digital inspection tools, including infrared thermal imaging.
- Wear required PPE and comply with NFPA 70, 70E, and ANSI C2 standards.
- Five (5) years of commercial electrician experience.
- Alaska journeyman electrical license.
- Alaska electrical administrator license.
- Alaska Certificate of Fitness.
- First Aid/CPR Certification preferred.
- Ability to work in inclement weather, from manlifts, and outside normal hours such as evenings and weekends.
- Lift or move up to 70 pounds.
- Reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for extended periods.
- Stand or sit for several hours, climb stairs, and work in vehicle cargo areas.
- Work effectively under pressure for extended periods.
- Valid state driver’s license; must maintain coverage by Tessera insurance.
- Must obtain and maintain a REAL ‑compliant driver’s license or acceptable alternative (U.S. passport or military ).
- Must obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
- Background check and E‑Verify required.
