Position: Protective Services Specialist 4 (PCN 063198)

Location: Bethel, Anchorage, Wasilla, or Fairbanks, Alaska

What You Will Be Doing

The individual in this position is responsible for Child Protection Services, acting as a bridge between management and line staff and serving as a community liaison. They supervise caseworkers, assign, review, and consult on cases, perform a variety of administrative functions, and provide personnel management for their staff.

Working Environment

Staff may work evenings, weekends, and weekdays, with overtime and on‑call expectations. Travel is expected 2–5 times a month, including day trips and occasional overnight stays in rural conditions. Travel may involve small aircraft, river boats, snow machines, and 4‑wheelers.

Special Notes
  • The position requires a valid Alaska driver’s license.
  • Vehicles may not always be available; mileage reimbursement applies for personal vehicle use.

  • Training courses may be required in Anchorage.
