JOB SUMMARYApplicant will be familiar with and capable of completing the necessary requirements for the position as transporter operator. The transporter operator reports to the Special Projects Supervisor, Satellite Field Supervisor or Pumping Department Supervisor, as appropriate, for daily functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIESSpill‑free operation of assigned LRS Fluid Transport unit.
Communicate job status and pertinent information with customer representative.
Full understanding of all applicable safety, health and environmental policies including:
- LRSI SOP’s
- LRSI Safety Policy and Procedures Document
- LRSI HSE Policy
- LRSI EMS Plan
Accurate and timely completion of all required paperwork including but not limited to:
- Driver’s Vehicle Inspection Report
- Daily Work Ticket
- Pre‑Job Safety Checklists
Maintain LRSI Fluid Transport in working condition and perform routine maintenance as required.
Communicate unit and personnel status with supervision.
Assist with HSE and other assigned duties and tasks as required.
Compliance and participation with all LRSI and customer safety protocols and programs.
Working knowledge and ability to use computers and radios as required for reports and communication.
Ability to work “on call” – i.e., not on a set schedule – varying start/finish times.
Ability to safely drive in arctic and inclement weather conditions.
Before Departure:
- Inspect unit for road worthiness
- Lights
- Tires
- Dikes and Hoses Secure
- Look for and report any defects to operator
- Establish radio communications with Operator as needed
- Keep unit and pickup clean and tidy, remove trash and oily waste.
- Deposit all waste in proper waste stream immediately.
- Do not leave food waste in pick up beds, (Fish and Wildlife can issue citations).
- Keep dikes cleaned out.
- Keep tool boxes and pump rooms clean and orderly.
- Park as directed by operator, ensure spotter is used when backing where personnel are available or in congested areas.
- Ensure wheels are chocked.
- Place dikes out under the pickup and unit.
- Participate in Pre‑Job Safety Meeting.
- Know emergency assembly point.
- Understand basic job purpose and your role in safe completion.
- Attach required bonding straps.
- Do walk arounds and equipment checks minimum of every 10 minutes.
- Look for drips and leaks and other risks and problems.
- Inspect all LRS connections and any tanks or transports.
- During fluid transfers know tank volumes and 90% levels.
- Check pump on unit for leaks and problems.
Ability and willingness to abide by LRS’ code of conduct, policies and procedures.
Comply, understand, and support LRS’ safety culture to ensure a safe work environment.
Comply with AES policies and procedures.
Support the AES zero‑incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE- Current Class A CDL with hazardous materials and tanker endorsements.
- Current DOT physical evaluation certification.
- A valid driver's license and a driving record that meets Company standards for driving company vehicles is required.
- Previous experience driving and operating tank vehicles and/or in arctic conditions.
