JOB SUMMARYThe Registrar Data and Reporting Specialist will provide technical and reporting support for the Registrar’s Office related to student data. The position serves as the liaison for the Registrar’s Office for University, State, and Federal student reporting requirements, including but not exclusive to enrollment and graduation reporting to the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) and the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS).
Additional reporting includes IPEDs, OHE, College Board, student record auditing, and other departmental reporting deliverables as requested. This role is responsible for ensuring that data flow between the student information system and tertiary systems is running efficiently and accurately. This position requires confidentiality, exceptional professional etiquette, a solid work ethic, and a customer service attitude.
- Perform National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) reporting tasks, including preparing, submitting, and validating enrollment, degree, and reverse transfer files.
- Review and correct NSC error reports by researching discrepancies and making necessary updates in system records.
- Execute standard and ad hoc reports in compliance with NSC and Department of Education requirements, following established procedures.
- Identify data discrepancies between NSC, NSLDS, and the Student Information System (SIS), and take appropriate action to resolve issues.
- Investigate and resolve enrollment reporting errors in accordance with federal guidelines and institutional procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of current reporting requirements by reviewing updates from NSC and the U.S. Department of Education.
- Compile and submit required data for IPEDS, OHE, College Board, and other compliance‑related reporting under supervision or established timelines.
- Assist with gathering documentation and responding to federal and state audit requests as directed.
- Document processes, procedures, and corrections to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- This position requires a flexible schedule as well as weekend and evening hours as needed to meet the operational needs of the Office.
Skills and Abilities
- Solution oriented individual
- Excellent interpersonal, oral communication and organizational skills required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office; specifically, Excel and Word
- Ability to plan, organize, and implement assigned responsibilities and to work well under pressure to meet established deadlines
- Higher Education Enrollment Reporting experience preferred
