Bilingual Receptionist (Spanish/English)
Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location:
Onsite – Waterbury, CT
We are seeking a professional, organized, and customer-focused Bilingual (English/Spanish) Receptionist to provide front-office administrative and clerical support for Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) and Rental Assistance Program (RAP) operations. The Receptionist will serve as a key point of contact for clients, landlords, and members of the public while supporting day-to-day office operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a high-volume environment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities- Answer incoming telephone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff members
- Greet and assist clients, landlords, visitors, and members of the public in a courteous and professional manner
- Prepare, type, organize, and distribute correspondence, forms, reports, and other documents
- Maintain accurate and organized filing systems and client records
- Log incoming Requests for Tenancy Approval (RFTAs) and update available housing unit listings
- Prepare monthly client packets for recertification
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and faxes
- Review initial eligibility applications for completeness and accuracy
- Operate standard office equipment, including computers, copiers, fax machines, and multi-line telephone systems
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to program staff as assigned
- Handle confidential client and program information with discretion
- Follow established office procedures and maintain a professional and organized work environment
- High school diploma or GED required
- One to two years of related office, administrative, or secretarial experience preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and ability to learn program-specific software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to perform arithmetic and percentages
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure
- Professional and courteous interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a diverse population
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
