Position Summary

The Coordinator of Workforce Transition and Outreach performs a full range of operations and administrative tasks in support of the admission, enrollment, continuing support, advising, registration, and reporting as it relates to supporting transitioning and dislocated workers who are the recipients of training funds through various federal, state, and/or private funded programs.

The position serves as a primary advocate for workforce transitions from multiple community agencies including dislocated workers from the One-Stop Centers (WIA/WIB), LEA Adult Education and Technical High School Adult Education, professional associations committed to transitioning adult workers, and other community, state and/or federal agencies with similar missions.

In addition, the position is responsible for providing all funding sources with the appropriate information including, but not limited to, projected costs for both credit/non-credit plans of study.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Dean of Students, the Coordinator of Workforce Transition and Outreach is responsible for effective performance in these essential duties:

The incumbent is required to maintain cooperative and collaborative relationships with all college staff and faculty in functional areas such as outreach, recruitment/outreach/enrollment services, bursars, mental health and wellness counseling, financial aid, placement testing, and similar functional areas. The incumbent is expected to collaborate with academic areas such as faculty, library, tutoring services, and similar academic functional areas.

Key responsibilities include:

  • General Administration

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies
  • Service on assigned committees and task forces
  • Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings which may occur during evenings and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriately related field together with two (2) or more years of related experience; or a combination of education, training and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience advising students or clients on academic or career pathways.
  • Ability to review transcripts or similar documents to guide program placement.
  • Strong communication skills for working with applicants, case managers, and agency partners.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and use systems such as Banner, Degree Works, CRM, or similar databases.
  • Experience preparing reports, submitting documentation, and coordinating with multiple departments.
  • Ability to learn and apply college and funding-agency policies and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to evaluate information from interviews or assessments to recommend appropriate programs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal staff and external agencies.
