Project Scope

The Safety Manager will support a mechanical contractor working on an active Amazon Data Center project in Waterbury, CT. This role is responsible for overseeing all on‑site safety operations and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and client‑specific safety standards. The position requires a hands‑on presence in the field, proactive hazard identification, and close coordination with project management, field supervisors, and client representatives.

The Safety Manager will act as the primary safety authority on site, supporting daily operations while maintaining a strong safety culture.

Qualifications
  • OSHA 500 Certification
  • Minimum of six (6) years of full‑time construction safety management experience
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to work onsite full‑time for the duration of the project
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience supporting large‑scale commercial or industrial construction projects
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and enforce site safety programs and procedures
  • Conduct daily safety inspections and field audits
  • Lead toolbox talks and safety meetings
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and client safety requirements
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and reports
  • Coordinate with project leadership and subcontractors on safety matters
