ACES Chase Academy Interdistict Magnet School is seeking a dynamic and qualified Certified Educator to teach 6th-grade science. As a nationally-recognized Magnet Schools of America School of Excellence, we are committed to providing a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and personal growth. ACES Chase Academy is currently expanding to a 6-12 school: candidates excited to be a part of an innovative, expanding program, including opportunities to teach high school, are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality science lessons that align with state and national standards.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and inquiry-based learning.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and engage students in the learning process.
- Assess and evaluate student performance using a variety of formative and summative assessment tools.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities.
- Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance the science curriculum.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in science education.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives and programs.
- Valid Connecticut state certification in K-6 (305) or science education in Biology 4-12 (030), Chemistry 4-12 (031), or Physics 4-12 (032). Physics Certification can result in high school teaching for the 2026-27 school year.
- Strong knowledge of current science education trends and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
