Position Summary

The Academic Coach provides academic, social, and emotional learning curriculum to Upward Bound scholars. The role helps students develop the knowledge and resilience needed to navigate high school and transition to higher education.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provide academic coaching through individual or group sessions
  • Assess students’ learning needs and develop academic success plans to help them achieve their goals
  • Instruct students on individualized academic strategies, including time management, organization, goal setting, note‑taking, test‑taking, and effective reading and writing
  • Monitor progress with regular check‑ins, scheduled meetings, and proactive outreach
  • Motivate students to practice self‑regulation, self‑advocacy, and ownership of their success
  • Help students identify and implement learning strategies tailored to specific disciplines and course materials
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Experience in the education field
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those with disabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Salary

$43.70 per hour
