About This Role

The Lead Teacher is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the classroom, fostering a high-quality educational environment, and providing excellent care for children.

• Implement a safe and engaging learning environment by using positive discipline techniques to ensure the well-being and safety of the children.
• Develop strong relationships with children, parents, and staff by greeting each child by name and treating everyone with dignity and respect.
• Establish open lines of communication with families to ensure everyone is informed and involved.
• Design and deliver developmentally appropriate curriculum and learning experiences aligned with the CT-ELDS and NAEYC Standards.
• Track and maintain accurate observations and assessments to inform teaching practices.
• Host regular parent-teacher conferences to discuss progress and address concerns.
• Engage with children during mealtime, accurately record attendance and lunch counts, and follow CACFP and center policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment, adhering to food safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
• Participate actively in staff meetings and attend workshops, conferences, and in-service trainings to meet OEC requirements.
• Perform additional duties as necessary to support the classroom and center.

• Minimum of a CDA with 12 credits in Early Childhood Education
• Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, or Bachelor's Degree in a non-related field including 36 credits in Early Childhood Education strongly preferred
