Shape the Next Generation of Skilled Precision Machinists with CTECS! The State of Connecticut’s Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS) is recruiting a Precision Machining Trade Instructor for W.F. Kaynor Technical High School in Waterbury, CT. In this role you will provide classroom instruction and hands‑on training that reflects today’s industry standards, demonstrating safe work practices, teaching operation of precision machining equipment, and preparing students with the technical knowledge and practical skills needed to excel in the workforce.
Responsibilities- Develop and deliver curriculum in precision machining, integrating theory and laboratory instruction.
- Demonstrate safe work practices and the operation of precision machining equipment and tools.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Build partnerships with local businesses to create real‑world learning opportunities for students.
- Maintain accurate instructional records, attendance, and performance charts.
- Experimental certification in precision machining, such as an Occupational Subject Endorsement (090).
- Alternative qualification: 8 years of trade experience; or 6 years of experience with an associate degree in the subject area.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
- Experience with educational technology and differentiated instruction.
- Valid state teacher certification with a secondary school endorsement issued by the Connecticut State Board of Education.
