Introduction
Shape the Next Generation of Skilled Precision Machinists with CTECS! The State of Connecticut, Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS), is recruiting a Precision Machining Trade Instructor for W.F. Kaynor Technical High School in Waterbury, CT. The instructor will prepare students for careers in advanced manufacturing by combining classroom instruction with hands‑on training that reflects today’s industry standards. Responsibilities include demonstrating safe work practices, teaching operation of precision machining equipment and tools, and providing students with the technical knowledge and practical skills needed to excel in the workforce.

Schedule:
first shift, full time (35 hours per week), Monday through Friday.
Location:
W.F. Kaynor Technical High School, Waterbury, CT.
Academic Calendar: 10‑month calendar (188 days per year).
Responsibilities- Deliver classroom instruction and laboratory training in precision machining.
- Demonstrate and enforce safe work practices and procedures.
- Teach operation of precision machining equipment and tools.
- Develop engaging learning experiences that reflect current industry standards.
- Build and maintain partnerships with local businesses to provide real‑world opportunities for students.
- 090 Occupational Subject Endorsement.
- In lieu of endorsement, candidates may qualify with trade experience: 8 years in the trade or 6 years with an associate degree in the subject area.
- Valid certificate issued by the Connecticut State Board of Education with a secondary school endorsement.
