Position Summary

The Office of Campus Life is committed to maintaining and enhancing an extraordinary student experience through housing, activities, clubs and organizations, and co-curricular opportunities.

The Campus Life Assistant is responsible for maintaining a welcoming, safe, engaging, and well-organized environment in The Nest, Post University’s campus center and student gathering space. This position supports students utilizing the space, assists with monitoring recreational equipment and gaming systems, helps maintain pantry and game inventories, and supports Campus Life programming and event operations across campus.

Campus Life Assistants serve as front-line student staff members who help create a positive campus atmosphere while encouraging community engagement, student interaction, and responsible use of campus resources.

Key Responsibilities

Student Engagement & Space Monitoring

  • Monitor and assist students in The Nest to ensure a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming environment.
  • Serve as a friendly and approachable resource for students who have questions or need assistance navigating the space.
  • Encourage appropriate use of all recreational areas, gaming equipment, furniture, and shared campus resources.
  • Address minor student concerns professionally and refer larger concerns to Campus Life professional staff when necessary.

Gaming & Equipment Management

  • Monitor usage of gaming consoles, controllers, TVs, charging stations, and other recreational equipment located in The Nest.
  • Ensure gaming equipment is functioning properly and report any damage, malfunctions, or missing items promptly to Campus Life staff.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of all gaming stations and entertainment areas.
  • Check gaming equipment in and out to students using established Campus Life procedures.
  • Require students to leave a valid Post University  the Campus Center Assistant in order to borrow or use gaming controllers and other designated equipment.
  • Track borrowed equipment to ensure all items are returned in good condition at the conclusion of use.

Pantry & Recreation Area Maintenance

  • Keep track of on-campus pantry inventory and restock items as needed.
  • Maintain game tables by restocking and organizing supplies, including but not limited to:
  • Ping pong balls
  • Pool sticks and chalk
  • Air hockey pucks and paddles
  • Board games and related materials
  • Assist in maintaining inventory counts and reporting supply shortages in both the snack/pantry area as well as the new Coffee machines

Facility Operations & Organization

  • Organize and tidy The Nest throughout and at the end of each shift.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards for all student-use areas.
  • Report maintenance issues, technology concerns, furniture damage, or safety hazards promptly to Campus Life staff.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures for The Nest when assigned.

Event Support & Campus Life Operations

  • Assist Campus Life staff with campus events, programs, and student engagement initiatives.
  • Help with event preparation, setup, operation, and breakdown for Campus Life programs and activities.
  • Support transporting, organizing, and arranging event materials, decorations, games, and supplies.
  • Assist with crowd engagement and maintaining a positive atmosphere during events.
  • Support tabling events, student outreach initiatives, and promotional activities when needed.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain Campus Life Excel sheets and tracking systems for Nest interaction data and utilization.
