Trinity Health Of New England is looking for a Mental Health Worker to join our team of mission-driven healthcare professionals located on our Behavioral Health Unit at Saint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, CT.

DescriptionThe Mental Health Worker / Behavioral Health Tech is a key role to keep patients engaged in recovery-oriented activities, help to communicate patient’s needs to the clinical team, monitor patient safety and work with the nursing professionals to create a healing environment for patients.
Responsibilities- Performs patient observations and other patient care activities.
- Observes patient behavior.
- Performs, reports, and documents vital signs, ADLs.
- Responds rapidly to emergency call lights and performs safety checks.
- Provides group and individual interventions to assist the psychiatric patient towards recovery and rehabilitation.
- Education:
High School Diploma/Equivalent with related experience required. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred. - Certification: AHA CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers.
- Experience:
Possesses a broad practical understanding of life experiences and the ability to relate to emotionally ill individuals. - Prior experience in psychiatric/behavioral Health setting a plus.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, maintain confidentiality, and possess good problem‑solving skills.
- Per Diem – 12 hour day shift
