Clinical Social Worker (40 Hour) – Waterbury, CT – Full‑time, 40 hours per week (Monday‑Friday, 8:00 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.)

DMHAS is a state‑run agency that promotes the health and wellness of individuals with behavioral health needs. The Western Connecticut Mental Health Network provides integrated, holistic, and comprehensive services for clients with long‑term mental illness.
Key Responsibilities- Develop psychosocial assessments through clinical interviews with clients and families.
- Create treatment plans with measurable objectives and monitor progress.
- Provide clinical treatment (triage, crisis intervention, individual, group, and family therapy).
- Advocate for and coordinate community‑based services to meet client needs.
- Document treatment and complete reports per agency and accrediting body requirements.
- Supervise Licensed Master Social Workers.
- Collaborate with other health providers to improve service delivery.
- Provide forensic evaluations and court testimony as required.
- Participate in research projects and perform related duties.
- Knowledge of:
- Social work methodology, casework, group work, and community mobilization.
- Family and interpersonal dynamics.
- Social, cultural, economic, medical, psychological, and legal issues affecting clients.
- Mental illnesses and treatment approaches.
- Considerable:
- Interpersonal skills.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to:
- Develop and implement treatment plans with measurable goals.
- Apply current psychiatric treatment modalities independently.
- License as a clinical social worker in Connecticut.
- Experience providing licensed clinical outpatient treatment to adults with severe/complex mental illness, addiction, and co‑morbidity.
- Experience completing risk assessments and mitigation plans.
- Experience performing intake (psychosocial) assessments and recovery planning.
- Experience delivering evidence‑based individual, family, and group treatment (e.g., DBT, EMDR, TF‑CBT).
- Maintain a Connecticut clinical social work license (Sec. 20‑195 m‑z).
- Maintain eligibility for federal health‑care programs (42 U.S.C. § 1320a‑7b(f)).
- May be required to know sign language or Spanish, and to travel, depending on the position.
