Field Support Technician

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring a Field Support Technician

Position type: Fulltime - Contract role

Duration: 6 Months

Location: Connecticut

• Oversee daily installations, delivery, and deployment of technical resources.
• Maintain a strong service‑oriented environment focused on problem prediction, detection, and resolution.
• Document issues, create action plans, ensure follow‑up, and escalating when necessary.
• Plan and track projects, allocate resources, and delegate tasks.
• Install and service low‑voltage cabling (Cat3, Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic).
• Diagnose and repair cabling infrastructure systems.
• Physically install, configure, and test switches, routers, firewalls, and other assets.
• Complete complex Move, Add, Change requests within service levels.
• Provide break‑fix services for network infrastructure.
• Install and maintain wireless routers, antennas, and related infrastructure.
• Perform routine checks, clean‑ups, and optimization of network closets.
• Respond to urgent client concerns during or after hours.
• Complete reports on billing, payroll, work orders, and SLAs.
• Coordinate with project managers, Smart Hands, and other support teams.

• Driver’s license and reliable vehicle (able to carry a 6‑foot ladder).
• Smartphone for email and ticketing system access.
• Basic tools: cabling and technician tools.
• Office 365 knowledge:
  Word, Excel, email usage.
• Cable testers, fiber testers, communications closets.
• Capability to safely lift heavy objects.
• Experience with cable patching, 66/110 block cross‑connect, IP phones.
• Ability to explain technical issues clearly to customers.
• Minimum 5 years in data communications.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Cisco knowledge: phones, switches, routers.
• Networking expertise: local and wide area networking.
• Ability to interpret customer issues and facilitate resolutions.
• Strong ability to interface between associates and management.

Pay Range*: Between $25 - $27 per hour

* Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
