Supervises customer service associates and designated hitters. Responsible for managing the front end of the store and making recommendations on overall operations of the pharmacy and retail store. Supports Store Manager with the overall operation of the store to achieve company deliverables; works alternating schedule with minimal overlap; assumes responsibilities of all store activities in the absence of the Store Manager.
Ensures proper merchandising, protection of store assets, and improves store sales and profitability. Leads and manages store team members, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline of direct reports to ensure teams are engaged and performing their responsibilities.
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving complaints promptly, and answering questions to ensure a positive customer experience. Models and shares customer service best practices.
- Monitors customer service, provides coaching, training, and develops improvement plans for both the front‑end and pharmacy. Empowers team members to find impactful resolutions and exceed customer expectations, building loyalty.
- Accountable for improving overall customer service metrics.
- Supervises store operations and team activities: assigns daily tasks, delegates responsibilities, manages opening/closing/shift changes, approves time records and time‑off requests, and schedules to ensure coverage.
- Collaborates with external partners to drive the future of the Walgreens store, supporting outreach opportunities.
- Supports Store Manager in leveraging data, analysis, and team input to make fact‑based decisions and monitor impact.
- Oversees cash management including register counts, withdrawals, armored pickups, safe deposits, change orders, and bookkeeping.
- Supervises front‑end and pharmacy inventory: completes resets/revisions and price changes; analyzes trends, creates corrective action plans, and coaches staff on inventory SOPs.
- Executes operational feedback from Store and District Managers through delegation and supervision.
- Maintains cleanliness of interior and exterior, manages repairs and maintenance, and responds to emergencies.
- Ensures team members are trained on all computer and technology systems.
- Safeguards the well‑being of team members, effectively utilizing the Security Operations Center.
- Complies with all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws regarding sale of alcohol, tobacco, fresh food, and pharmacy products.
- Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
- Independently analyzes financial and performance data; creates action plans to achieve business deliverables.
- Uses operating statements, KPIs, and other tools to engage the team, drive solutions, and support growth through new initiatives.
- Supports pharmacy during busy periods, serving as a pharmacy technician when necessary.
- Led and trained team members; provides coaching, mentoring, and support for career development. Handles discipline and termination when appropriate.
- Manages performance: assigns responsibilities, develops performance plans, sets goals, observes performance, gives feedback, and recognizes achievements.
- Acquires and retains talent, builds pipelines, anticipates staffing needs, manages candidate pool, participates in interviews, and makes hiring decisions.
- Ensures compliance with selection, recruitment, record retention, and training procedures per company policy and legal requirements.
- Establishes a culture of accountability through clear expectations, performance improvement plans, and constructive discipline.
- Successfully completes the Store Manager learning and development program and all required courses, certifications, and trainings.
- Monitors own performance, seeks continuous feedback, and commits to self‑development with an Individual Development Plan.
