CNC Shop Floor Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Engineer aspects of design and production on both desk and shop floor.
  • Create, edit, and troubleshoot CNC code for turned and milled parts.
  • Operate CNC lathes and mills, performing tool setting, fixture set‑up, and program troubleshooting.
  • Create, support, and troubleshoot multi‑step manufacturing processes.
  • Understand and apply GD&T, specifications (AMS, SAE, etc.), and Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Communicate and collaborate with coworkers at all levels to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Develop inspection methods and gauges for new and modified processes.
  • Conduct continuous improvement activities using established Lean tools.
  • Support the design of manufacturing processes to meet product, customer, and economic requirements.
  • Use CAM software (Solid Works, SURFCAM) for programming and editing CNC programs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a CNC machining environment.
  • Hands‑on experience with CNC lathes and mills.
  • Strong ownership of projects and ability to drive them to completion.
  • Full understanding of GD&T.
  • Ability to edit G‑code manually and via CAM on machines and remote terminals.
  • Exposure to Lean manufacturing philosophy.
  • Professionalism and courtesy in all interactions.
  • Knowledge of variable CNC programming and experience with Okuma and Fanuc controls is helpful.

Working Conditions:

  • Time spent on a partially air‑conditioned manufacturing floor and a climate‑controlled office.
  • Considerable time on the manufacturing floor working directly with machinery and personnel.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, walking, bending required during most of the day.
  • Ability to climb stairs.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
Senior Layout Inspector

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct complex layout and first‑article inspections on precision parts.
  • Use inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, sine plates, height gauges) to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Generate detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to address non‑conformance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Interpret and apply GD&T per engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining inspection processes, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Mentor less experienced quality inspectors to promote skill development.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a quality role, with at least 3 years of complex layout and first‑article inspections.
  • Strong knowledge of inspection techniques, GD&T, and blueprint interpretation.
  • Proficiency with mechanical inspection tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑functional collaboration.

Preferred Additional

Skills:

  • Experience in gage design for custom measurement solutions.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, standing for extended periods and using inspection tools.
Production Equipment Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment according to safety and production standards.
  • Perform highly diversified duties to keep machines running during production.
  • Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs on production equipment.
  • Carry out simple machinist and mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic duties.
  • Read equipment manuals and work orders to perform required tasks.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and adjust machinery.
  • Use hand and power tools as needed.
  • Detect and report faulty operations, defective materials, and unusual situations to supervisory personnel.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean, orderly work areas.
  • Assist or supervise operators when required.
  • Exhibit ethical conduct and specialized technical capacity.

Compensation is based on experience.
