At Naugatuck Valley Surgical Center, part of Saint Mary's Hospital, the Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room (OR) delivers safe, high‑quality care to surgical patients.

Purpose:
The RN in the OR provides safe, high‑quality care to surgical patients.
- Provide intraoperative care by performing circulating and/or scrub duties, including patient positioning, site preparation, instrumentation, and sterile technique.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient, coordinated care throughout procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing is required.
- Valid RN license in Connecticut.
- Ideal candidates will have 1 or more years of intraoperative nursing experience, including circulating and scrub experience.
- Current BLS/CPR (AHA or Red Cross).
- Familiarity with AORN standards.
This role is not designed for new graduates or those seeking training through the Periop 101 program. Candidates must be able to function independently in the OR.
Position Highlights And Benefits- Full-Time – 40 hours/week.
- All shifts are Monday through Friday.
- No weekend, holiday, or on‑call requirements.
- Specialty pay available for experienced nurses with one or more years of RN experience.
- Hourly position, included in RN Step Program pay range: $36.15 to $59.95.
