** Medical Oncology/Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)
** provides compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals with cancer and other acute medical conditions in an inpatient setting. The RN plays a vital role in delivering specialized oncology treatments, managing complex medical-surgical needs, coordinating interdisciplinary care, and supporting patients and families throughout their hospitalization and recovery.

* What You Will Do:

* + Provide comprehensive nursing care to oncology and medical-surgical patients with a variety of acute and chronic conditions.

+ Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, recognize changes in clinical status, and communicate findings to the healthcare team.

+ Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and oncology treatments in accordance with established policies and procedures.

+ Manage symptoms related to cancer treatment, chronic illness, and acute medical conditions while promoting patient comfort and safety.

+ Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, rehabilitation specialists, and case managers to develop and implement individualized plans of care.

+ Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, symptom management, and discharge instructions.

+ Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation while adhering to quality, safety, and infection prevention standards.

** Minimum Qualifications*

* Required:

* + Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

+ Current and valid Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license.

+ Minimum of one year of acute care inpatient nursing experience.

+ Current BLS/CPR certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

** Preferred:*
* + Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

+ One or more years of Medical-Surgical and/or Oncology nursing experience in an acute inpatient setting.

+ Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) chemotherapy certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
