LocationAlden House, Enfield, CT
About the ProgramAlden House is a 5‑bed 24/7 Residential program for Young Adults ages 18‑25 with significant functional deficits from mental illness or trauma. The goal is to teach clients the skills needed to transition to a lower level of care. Skills include daily living, social, recreational, time management, interpersonal, conflict resolution, coping and symptom management. The Residential Counselor engages and teaches these skills, with the Program Director and Residential Supervisor providing support.

- Maintain physical environment and program standards to CHR, DMHAS, JCAHO and licensing requirements.
- Monitor residents' medications per adult residential medication policy.
- Use appropriate communication methods/tools to share info about the day’s events with staff.
- Teach and assist residents in nutrition, clean‑house skills (meal prep, hygiene, laundry, banking, budgeting, basic home care).
- Assist/manage administrative functions as directed.
- Prepare and facilitate educational and skill‑building groups and one‑to‑one interventions per the treatment plan.
- Collaborate and coordinate care with providers and families.
- Assist residents with medical and psychiatric needs.
- Maintain documentation in compliance with agency and program standards.
- Participate in staff meetings, supervision, trainings, and other meetings as assigned.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Two years of experience working with a relevant population preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record required.
$18.00 per hour
