Software Development Engineer

Position Summary

Aetna Resources LLC, a CVS Health company, is hiring a Staff Software Development Engineer in Hartford, CT. The role involves designing and developing software applications and platforms to support digital strategies and solutions.

• Analyze user needs and develop software solutions to meet business requirements.
• Determine feasibility of solutions design and prepare technical design documentation.
• Upgrade existing software applications and/or systems to improve functionality and features with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Write and review high quality code and perform unit and/or automation testing.
• Develop and deploy application components and support unit testing and bug fixes.
• Participate in AGILE Scrum meetings and/or CI/CD.
• Support applications, systems, and databases used to process prescriptions, claims, and related healthcare activities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on application development, technical requirements, code review, project deliverables, quality assurance, and software development best practices.
• Independently lead development of solutions with high complexity and risk.

• Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field.
• 24 months of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
• At least two (2) years of experience in each of the following:
• CI/CD, Jenkins, GIT, or Dev Ops
• Java, Python, or Node.js
• XML, JSON, HTML, CSS, or Java Script
• Agile methodologies or SAFe Software Development Principles
• REST, SOAP, or Web Service APIs
• DB2 and JIRA
• IBM IIB / ACE
• IBM MQ (WMQ)
• Data Power
• Splunk / Dev Ops Tools
• API Connect (APIC)
• Developing backend services, performing code reviews, and collaborating with peers on software development solutions

Pay Range: $/year to $/year. This range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. The position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above and includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
