The Residential Transportation Specialist is responsible for transporting program clients to and from appointments in the community, court appearances, probation offices, offsite evaluations and other community locations as directed. The Residential Transportation Specialist will be knowledgeable of transportation safety, and will practice cultural, gender and trauma responsive approaches appropriate to clients in residential care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Provide transportation to program clients to and from medical and behavioral health appointments in the community, court appearances, probation offices, offsite evaluations and other community locations as directed.
- Comply with all agency and funder driver safety requirements.
- Complete vehicle safety checks and inspections as required.
- Maintain compliance in documentation with agency and program standards.
- Participate in staff meetings, supervision and other meetings assigned.
- Complete all mandatory internal and external trainings within required time limits.
- Maintain mileage log and regular vehicle maintenance.
- Maintain gas cards usage and receipts.
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicle.
- Adhere to state and federal regulations and standards of accreditation, facility licensure and funding sources.
Knowledge Of:
- Vehicle safety checks and inspections.
- General office software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Manage priorities effectively to meet deadlines and demonstrate multi-tasking skills.
- Assimilate new information and technology.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- One to two years' employment experience in transportation.
- Knowledge of residential treatment preferred.
- Must have a valid driver's license and no traffic violations on record.
- Must be dependable and reliable; detailed oriented; and able to interface easily with clients, staff, and referral sources.
- Must be able to meet routine office physical demands including climbing stairs, carrying up to 20 pound objects and possess the dexterity and vision to operate office computers, equipment and vehicles.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must successfully complete the introductory probationary employment period.
