Schedule Four weekdays from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Job Summary

The Utility Associate is a versatile, hands‑on team member who supports multiple areas of our operations. This role assists with yard organization, product and equipment assembly, deliveries, customer service support, counter support, and general warehouse responsibilities. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, comfortable operating forklifts and company non‑CDL vehicles, and computer‑savvy enough to assist with inventory systems and basic office tasks when needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support overall yard, warehouse, and store operations, including organizing materials, maintaining inventory, and keeping work areas clean and safe
  • Assist with the assembly of construction equipment and products, along with basic mechanical tasks and light maintenance
  • Stock, load, unload, and secure materials for customer orders, transfers, and deliveries
  • Operate forklifts and material handling equipment (training/certification provided if needed)
  • Make local deliveries and pickups to customers, contractors, and job sites using company vehicles; perform vehicle inspections and follow safe driving practices
  • Provide support in customer‑facing areas, including the sales counter, garden center, and outdoor product areas as needed
  • Use company systems for inventory lookups, order verification, and basic data entry, and assist with general operational tasks using computer programs
  • Deliver friendly, professional customer service both in‑store and at job sites
  • Follow all company safety procedures and DOT regulations
  • Step in to assist different departments during busy periods or staff shortages and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Comfortable operating non‑CDL delivery vehicles, forklifts, and warehouse equipment (or willingness to learn)
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 75 lbs regularly
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools preferred
  • Basic computer skills required; experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and inventory or POS systems is a plus
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
  • Reliable, flexible, and able to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • High school diploma or equivalent
