Overview
WSP is a leading engineering firm serving New England communities. We are seeking a Senior Paving Construction Inspector to oversee urban and rural pavement rehabilitation or preservation projects valued $1‑$25 million. The role can be based in Waterbury, VT.
Job DescriptionAs the Senior Paving Construction Inspector, you will supervise work elements including asphalt shimming, milling, reclaiming, filling, compacting, drainage improvements, striping, and incidental items. You will report to the Resident Engineer and may act as their representative.
Your Impact- Interface with contractors and attend meetings.
- Mentor or supervise other inspectors on behalf of the Resident Engineer or project manager.
- Complete daily reports, measure and calculate unit price quantities.
- Coordinate independent material sampling and testing.
- Monitor maintenance of traffic.
- Photograph and compile documentation of daily progress.
- Exercise responsible and ethical financial decision‑making and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct.
- High School Diploma.
- 7 years applicable experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, design plans and specifications.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Associate of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Average proficiency with MS Word Suite.
- NETTCP HMA certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hiring.
- Hands‑on experience with construction management software (Site, Field Manager, APPIA, Procore, IPD, Bluebeam, or similar).
- Any combination of college education, professional licenses, certifications and experience will be considered.

CompensationExpected Salary: $60,700 – $116,000 (all locations).
