WSP is currently initiating a search for a Construction Inspector to help oversee road, bridge or associated construction with construction values ranging from $1‑$50 million. This position can be based out of Waterbury, VT.
The inspector, depending on experience, will oversee various work elements from excavation, back filling, compaction, cast‑in‑place concrete from formwork to reinforcement, installation of precast elements, bridge seats, bearings and joints, bridge rail, drainage, paving and other incidental items. The inspector will report to the Resident Engineer or their designee.
Your Impact- Interfacing with contractor supervisors to determine and monitor daily work.
- Completing daily reports, measuring and calculating unit price quantities.
- Coordinating independent material sampling and testing, or periodically performing the same.
- Monitoring maintenance of traffic.
- Taking and compiling photographs to track daily progress.
- Helping update red‑line drawings using Bluebeam.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- High School Diploma
- 5 years of applicable experience
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read plans and specifications, or the aptitude to learn
- Valid driver’s license
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- Associate of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or related field
- Average proficiency with MS Word Suite
- Hands‑on experience with construction management software such as Site, Field Manager, APPIA, Procore, IPD or similar systems; knowledge of Bluebeam
- ACI, NETTCP certification or ability to attain within 3 months of hiring
- Any combination of college education, professional licenses, certifications and experience will be considered

CompensationExpected salary (all locations): $55,600 – $100,000. WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation.
