The Financial Manager II will join the Department of Children and Families Analytics team in Waterbury, serving as a key budget position responsible for appropriation projections, budget analysis, and team leadership. The role involves performing complex reconciliations, managing year-end closeout duties, and collaborating with divisional management on monthly expenditure and revenue projections across multiple departments. The successful candidate will train and coach team members, develop procedures, and may serve as project lead on grants and special initiatives.
Keyqualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with 20+ credit hours in accounting plus 2+ years professional accounting/budgeting/fiscal operations experience
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience (4 years with bachelor's in any discipline, 6 years with associate's degree, or 8 years with high school diploma)
- Strong analytical skills and excellent Excel proficiency
- Experience managing programs, funding sources, or staff
- Experience with VISION system (Vermont People Soft financial management system) may be required
