Senior Project Manager
Location:
Waterbury, VT – Remote
12 months assignment with extension
(Eastern Time Zone
Hours:
7:45 AM – 4:30 PM EST)
Project Overview:
Seeking a Senior Project Manager to support project replacing the legacy system. The project is in the maintenance and operations phase and follows a hybrid agile methodology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project management activities aligned with PMI’s PMBOK and Vermont ADS EPMO standards.
- Maintain and update project schedules, RAID logs, stakeholder registers, and financial tracking tools.
- Facilitate project meetings, including backlog grooming, risk reviews, and change control.
- Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Prepare and deliver weekly status reports, change requests, and project closeout documentation.
- Support procurement processes and ensure compliance with State governance and documentation standards.
- Ensure all project documentation is organized and archived in the State’s designated repository.
Required Skills &
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of project management experience, preferably in government or large-scale IT projects.
- Proven experience managing system replacement or upgrade initiatives.
- Strong understanding of hybrid agile methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Azure Dev Ops, and project scheduling tools.
- PMP Certification (Required).
- Experience with childcare or human services IT systems (preferred).
- Must have completed required training (e.g., Cybersecurity, HIPAA).
Additional Requirements:
- Must be a W2 employee (no 1099 or independent contractors).
- Must pass a national criminal background check.
- Must complete required training:
Annual Cybersecurity, HIPAA, CJIS. - Must adhere to State IT policies and confidentiality agreements.
- Must comply with all data protection, privacy, and non-discrimination laws.
