SummaryAs we continue to scale one of the fastest growing apparel brands, we are seeking a shift supervisor to assist the shift manager in providing oversight for our manufacturing operations, including knitting and finishing. The shift supervisor manages employee performance, schedules, production, and product quality. Supervisors work with managers, manufacturing operators, technicians, and QC staff to maximize productivity and quality according to production schedules and provide clear communication to appropriate personnel.
Starting pay is $65,000-$70,000 annually, based on experience. The Weekend shift is 6 AM to 6:30 PM, Friday through Sunday.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure that all employees follow the company Environmental Health & Safety policies.
- Hold employees accountable to all CHM policies and procedures through direct coaching and corrective action.
- Supervise operational activities including assigning tasks, coordinating workflow, and adjusting staffing to optimize team and shift performance.
- Communicate work status and exchange information with others across all departments within operations.
- Monitor equipment and operators to ensure proper performance; coach operators or assist with technical procedures; use spec. sheets or other instructions to determine equipment setup, workflow, and standard work requirements.
- Support the cultivation of an employee-oriented culture that emphasizes respect and inclusion while promoting quality, continuous improvement, and high performance.
- Provide front-line response to employee issues and escalate to HR or management as needed.
- Manage employee time & attendance and ensure hours are accurate for payroll.
- Conduct performance reviews for team members in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with staff to develop and achieve career goals within the Company.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to address operational issues.
- Monitor operators to ensure they perform standard work; communicate, correct, and coach to resolve issues.
- Collaborate with Technicians and Quality to resolve production problems and equipment malfunctions; inspect equipment and output to optimize quality standards.
- Monitor inventory and order required supplies; ensure raw materials are prepared and available.
- Ensure production data is recorded relative to work volumes and production reports at end of shift.
- Stand in for Shift Manager when needed to cover absence and vacations.
- Other duties as assigned by the Shift Manager.
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Experience with time-keeping/payroll systems.
- Experience with ERP and MES software.
- Proven communication and listening skills to direct employees in the workplace.
- Sound judgment and decision-making to respond to challenging situations.
- Reliability and sensitivity to address conflict, delegate tasks, and monitor employee performance.
- Positive and problem-solving approach to all aspects of the position.
- Education equivalent to High School diploma or GED;
Bachelor’s degree and/or college credits preferred. - 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing setting; preference for knowledge of CHM manufacturing operations.
- Highly responsible and dependable with ability to manage confidential information.
- Ability to work well under pressure and collaborate productively with colleagues.
- Professional and respectful demeanor; commitment to company culture and core values.
- Flexible to manage changing priorities.
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and other conditions.
- Ability to lift at least 30 pounds.
- Company operates 7 days a week; may require overtime or sessions outside normal shift hours.
- Local travel to organization sites as required.
