Major Duties and Responsibilities
Creates, manages, and maintains the daily, weekly, and monthly nursing staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage.
Coordinates replacement of staff for call-outs, vacations, and other absences in a timely and efficient manner.
Ensures staffing assignments comply with Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) minimum staffing requirements.
Communicates clearly with nursing and administrative staff regarding shift changes, open shifts, and coverage needs.
Maintains accurate records of staffing, attendance, and schedule changes in accordance with facility policies. Collaborates with the Director of Nursing (or Designee) to ensure staffing meets resident care needs and clinical priorities.
Monitors schedule compliance and report staffing concerns or gaps to appropriate leadership. Supports payroll accuracy by ensuring schedules align with timekeeping records.
Responds to staffing-related questions and concerns from employees in a professional and timely manner.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
