Waterford Public Schools has an immediate vacancy for a team-oriented individual. Waterford Public Schools is seeking a Tutor Multilingual Learner at Great Neck Elementary School to support our elementary students. The Multilingual Learner (ML) Tutor provides academic support and language development assistance to students whose primary language is not English. The tutor works closely with teachers, language specialists, and school staff to help multilingual learners (MLs) improve their English proficiency and succeed in content-area subjects.
Waterford Public Schools serves approximately 2,400 students in grades PK-12. Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Proficiency in English and strong communication skills.
- Experience working with multilingual or diverse student populations.
- Patience, empathy, and cultural sensitivity.
- Bilingual or multilingual ability.
- Background in education, TESOL, linguistics, or a related field.
- Familiarity with ESL instructional strategies.
Rate of Pay : $32.12 hourly
- This position works 35 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day including a half hour unpaid lunch.
- Medical, Dental and Vision benefits and Municipal Pension (MERS) eligible.
- Sick time awarded in accordance with CT Sick.
