Facilities Waterford Public Schools is seeking a Maintainer/Painter to support the Building and Grounds Department. This is a full-time position.

SUMMARY:

Helps maintain physical plants in a condition of operating excellence so that full use of them may be made at all times.

• General Maintenance & Repairs:
  Performs various maintenance tasks inside and outside the physical plant, including painting, application of stains and protective coatings, surface preparation for painting, minor electrical and plumbing repairs as needed.
• Grounds & Exterior Operations:
  Performs district-wide grounds maintenance work including, handling materials and supplies, moving equipment, operating power-driven equipment, truck driving, snow plowing, salting, and miscellaneous marking of playgrounds and parking areas.
• Facility Equipment Service:
  Performs normal operator adjustments and service to facility operational equipment such as, but not limited to, compressors, boilers, unit ventilators, and fans, and maintains records on operational and maintenance activities.
• Supply & Inventory Management:
  Recommends supplies and equipment for purchase and maintains the inventory of district-owned equipment, tools, and painting supplies.
• Safety & Code Compliance:
  Maintains all safety and code requirements of State, local, and Board of Education guidelines.
• Facility & Visitor Support:
  Assists visiting public utilizing the facilities with directions within the building or in obtaining and setting up needed equipment and/or material.

• Regular Attendance:
  Maintain consistent and reliable attendance as an essential function of this position. Notify supervisor promptly of any absences or scheduling conflicts, particularly regarding on-call responsibilities.
• Continuous Learning:
  Stay current with mechanical system technology, painting techniques, safety protocols, and equipment operation. Participate in manufacturer training, professional development opportunities, and certification programs as provided by the district.
