R Project Manager - Operations (Open)
Location:
Waterford, CT (Regional Office) - Cust. installations
- Manage projects independently and with staff to ensure timely and cost‑effective completion, including scheduling, cost control, and progress monitoring for goal achievement.
- Prepare comprehensive action plans for resources such as inventory and equipment within project time frames, in coordination with the Regional Project/Maintenance Manager and Sr. Regional Manager, Operational Excellence.
- Monitor or update capital expenditure budgets and notify Airgas management for new funds if the budget accelerates.
- Coordinate tasks such as scheduling and risk management, and maintain project documentation.
- Create piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&’s) using AutoCAD and verify process equipment matches the P&.
- Prepare all Management of Changes (MOCs) related to the projects and coordinate all of Northeast’s MOCs.
- Assist with Northeast’s Quality program, including ISO/QC audits, and coordinate with the operations team on the customer complaint system.
- Lead project management for the complex installation of Air Gas equipment.
- Prepare and update P& as required.
- Determine metrics of success for each project and establish, monitor, and report metrics for all project milestones, budget figures, and compliance issues to leadership.
- Order inventory and source vendors for cost efficiency.
- Monitor project staff scheduling and overtime to keep projects on time and within budget.
- Prepare operations and project status reports such as cost tracking; maintain proper reconciliation of paperwork/electronic files related to all projects.
- Maintain all data project requests and supporting documentation in a timely manner and within established quality metrics.
- Escalate problems to the necessary leader or project owner.
- Maintain 100% attendance at safety meetings to reduce accident frequency; support Health, Safety and Environmental programs and objectives.
- Bachelor’s Administrative/Science degree preferred. High school diploma or GED required in lieu of degree with relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years project control/scheduling experience.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA’s):
Ability to read blueprints, project schematics and process flow charts; knowledge of bulk cryogenic installations; strong working knowledge of project management tools; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google platform products; ability to exercise independent judgment on matters of significance; excellent verbal and written skills; ability to develop systems to keep projects organized; excellent customer service skills; ability to use AutoCAD and Intelex. - Responsibilities may require seating for extended periods, occasional traversal of office/manufacturing locations, and frequent information exchange by listening; ability to plan and view project completion 1–6 months in advance; vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus; ability to lift and move 10–30 pounds up to 10 feet; reliable transportation and valid driver’s license with appropriate vehicle insurance;
travel to Airgas and customer sites within the region.
The annual base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $97,000. This is a general guideline;
