Nuclear Planner/Senior Nuclear Planner - Millstone Projects

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

Millstone Projects is seeking a Nuclear Planner/Senior Nuclear Planner to serve as the technical expert for designated craft and lead planning and execution of maintenance activities for a nuclear power station. Responsibilities include preparing automated work order packages, researching maintenance history and change documents, identifying steps for work orders and required parts to ensure timely scheduling and completion of maintenance programs, ensuring periodic tests and maintenance programs are completed prior to deadline, creating and analyzing outage/non‑outage and major maintenance packages, conducting walkdowns to verify engineering documents and assess plant conditions, obtaining and reviewing vendor manuals, drawings and procedures, determining material or service requirements, locating vendor sources that meet technical/performance expectations, interfacing with technicians, supervisors, and operators to clarify issues, ordering materials and parts, creating parts IDs, expediting parts for emergent work, negotiating best price with vendor sources, providing technical expertise to less experienced planners, and conducting planning meetings with various departments to ensure that planning of maintenance activities are properly identified, integrated, and resource leveled.

The planner acts as the planning supervisor in the absence of the designated person.

Qualifications

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:

  • 3+ years of directly related work experience for a Nuclear Planner; alternatively a high school diploma/GED with 5+ years of experience, including completion of a technical program in a craft discipline (mechanical, electrical, instrument, controls, etc.) or a nuclear operations training program.
  • 5+ years of directly related work experience for a Senior Nuclear Planner; alternatively a high school diploma/GED with 7+ years of experience, including completion of a technical program in a craft discipline (mechanical, electrical, instrument, controls, etc.) or a nuclear operations training program.
  • Expert knowledge of craft specialty and/or nuclear operations, exceptional skill in organizing work schedules and establishing priorities, strong analytical ability, negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills, and proficiency in computer and scheduling software.
Education Requirements

Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted.
