Perform repair work on fire trucks and other emergency apparatus by traveling to assigned site locations or in shop. Troubleshoot problems specializing in emergency equipment.

• Responsible for the service and repair of all fire apparatus equipment. From simple PM work and brakes to pump repairs and testing.
• Testing and repairing fire apparatus and equipment by traveling to the location of the customer.
• Provide troubleshooting and performing installation of equipment.
• Attending to the needs of the customer whenever required.
• Provide confirmation that equipment is functional.
• Provide telephone support to the customer in order to perform troubleshooting.
• Follow through to ensure equipment is in proper working condition after performing troubleshooting.

Monday-Thursday 7 am to 5 pm

• Must be willing to travel within an assigned territory.
• Must be dependable.
• Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written.
• Must assume responsibility for high quality of repair process.
• Must have the ability to work independently or with less supervision
• Should have excellent verbal communication skills
• Must have the ability to work under pressure
• Ability to manage service calls

• High School Diploma or GED
• Clean driving record with a Class B non-exempt CDL driver license
• Knowledge of repair principles and procedures in all areas of the Heavy Truck Repair Industry
• Automotive HVAC is a plus
• 12V automotive electrical is a plus
• Automotive/Heavy truck Service technician: 1 year (Required)
• Automotive electrical systems: 1 year (Required)
• Willing to train the right person

EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician), ASE Heavy Truck Certifications and Class B CDL are a plus and will be required within a year.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• The employee is required to stand and walk over 50% of work time.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
