Counter Sales Associate / Delivery Driver (Non CDL)

Location:

Waterford, CT (Regional Office) - Cust. installations

Hourly Pay: $26/hr-$29/hr

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, no weekend work;

Hours:

7:30am-4:30pm

Required to have a valid driver's license; a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be run.

Airgas provides personal protective equipment (PPE).

Position Summary

• Counter Sales Associate (90% of job duty):
  Partner with customers to provide industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding equipment, and other essential supplies; advise customers on tools and materials; demonstrate equipment use; maintain accurate paperwork; manage order entry and transactions; coordinate phone, e‑mail, and in-person communication; participate in call strategy; coordinate merchandise transfer; maintain a positive work atmosphere; stock shelves and manage showroom displays; coordinate cylinder movement and pallet organization.
• Delivery Driver – Non CDL (10% of job duty):
  Operate a small box truck to make hot shot deliveries 4-5 times a month; safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders; conduct cylinder inspections; perform pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections.

Required Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid regular driver's license.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in product, warehouse, or sales environments.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in gas, welding, or safety supplies.
• Familiarity with SAP, Google, or MS Office applications; detailed understanding of SAP and PROS functionalities.
• Clear and warm communication with a wide variety of people.
• Experience in industrial retail, inside sales, or inventory control.
• Attention to detail in handling transactions.
• Availability for occasional overtime.
• Experience with pallet jack, forklift, and other warehouse equipment.
• Ready to operate in a drug‑free workplace.
