An important hospital in the South of Ireland requires a Consultant in Microbiology for 2023.
It is an UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL that provides general medical, surgical and maternity care to people living in South Kilkenny, Waterford City and County. The hospital provides specialty services to the population of the south east c. 500 000 in the following areas of clinical practice:
Cardiology (including Interventional Cardiac Procedures), Trauma Orthopaedics, Opthalmology, Neurology, Nephrology, Rheumatology, Urology, Vascular Surgery, ENT and Neonatology, Radiology, Pathology and Microbiology.
The hospital is the designated cancer centre for the south east, providing rapid access assessment for Breast, Prostate, Lung and Skin cancers. Cancer surgery is centrallised matology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care is provided through our inpatient and day care facilities.
There are 431 inpatient and 85 day procedure beds.
Benefits:
• Initial contract of 1year. With a possibility of extension.
• Approximate net monthly salary of 6500-7500€ net/month after tax and pension deductions for Consultant positions. Could have the possibility to earn more money through private patients attending the hospital. Typical long term Consultants in Ireland are earning in excess of 10.000€ net/month (approximately 200.000€ gross/year).
• 31 working days per Year holidays for Consultants+ public holidays (there is 9 in a year).
• 7 study days leave per year to erences or further education for Consultants.
• Up to 3000€ for educational funding for Consultants.
• Lucrative pension scheme included.
Requirements and Qualifications:
1. Should be on the Specialist registrar of the Irish Medical Council for Microbiology.
2. Have a very good command of written and spoken English.
3. Good motivation to go to Ireland to work as a doctor ASAP if coming from abroad.
4. At least 6-7 years experience in Microbiology is required (including your training years).
5. Irish and/or UK experience is recommendable although not essential.
