Position Summary
Midland States Bank is seeking an Assistant Banking Center Manager. The role focuses on business development, sales and operations of a banking center, working closely with the Banking Center Manager to implement policies, lead staff, and achieve company objectives.
Compensation for the position is $24.00 – $27.50 per hour, with additional short‑term incentives (bonuses/commissions) and potential long‑term incentives (stock awards). PrimaryAccountabilities
- Coaches bankers and tellers on identifying and meeting customer needs, answering inquiries, opening accounts, and resolving complaints.
- Sells banking services to retail customers and develops business clients, including cross‑sell opportunities.
- Maintains customer base and deepens relationships, coaching staff to cross‑sell bank products and services.
- Tracks sales and opportunities in customer information software and recommends personal, trusts, HSA, IRA, and business products.
- Participates in onsite visits to promote the Employee Perks at Work Program & Merchant Services and in outbound teleconsulting.
- Processes customer transactions, balances, and safeguards against fraud; profiles and refers to banking partners.
- Assists with staff scheduling, timesheet approval, and ensures effective utilization of resources.
- Provides timely performance feedback through check‑ins, huddle meetings, coaching, and evaluations.
- Serves as relief or backup ABCM in other locations and participates in community activities.
- Maintains compliance with applicable regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- 2–3 years of relevant work experience with broad knowledge of bank systems, consumer loans and deposit accounts.
- Cash handling and customer service background and proven sales experience.
- National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and transport coin and currency bags (25–50lbs).
