Overview:

A growing organization in the Waterloo area is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a contract engagement to support core accounting functions, reporting, and month-end close. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate financials and supporting ongoing accounting initiatives.

Responsibilities:

+ Manage and support month-end and year-end close processes

+ Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity

+ Assist with financial statements and internal reporting

+ Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies

+ Support audit requests and provide documentation as needed

+ Analyze variances and investigate discrepancies

+ Collaborate with AP/AR and other finance team members as needed

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

+ 4+ years of general ledger or senior-level accounting experience

+ Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting

+

Experience with ERP systems (Net Suite, Oracle, SAP, Dynamics, etc.)

+ Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP preferred)

+ Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a contract environment
