Construction Project Manager

Kirk Gross Company is a design-build construction company located in Waterloo Iowa. We have projects throughout Iowa and surrounding states. Our project managers work together with the project team and the client from design stage through project completion.

The responsibilities of this job include the management of projects on a day-to-day basis. Secure materials, equipment, labor and subcontracts to construct the projects. Manage schedule, cost and quality to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction.

Specific duties include estimating, budgeting, value engineering, bidding, subcontract negotiation, scheduling, contract buy-out, cost management, shop drawing review, construction work coordination and project close-out.

This is a M-F full time salaried position with full benefits package. Some travel is required occasionally for job site visits.

Education Required:

High School Diploma.

Education Preferred:
College Degree in Construction Management (or equivalent education and experience).

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Ability to work both independently and closely with others including team members, subcontractors, vendors and clients.

Must be able to problem solve and create solutions when previous procedures/precedence have not been set.

Basic knowledge of estimating software, spreadsheet and scheduling software.

Proficient in basic computer systems (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Basic understanding of construction cost accounting.

Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations.

Ability to read and understand construction/architectural documents. Some knowledge of code requirements.
