This established medical center provides comprehensive cancer care services to the community. The facility features a well-equipped oncology department with dedicated nursing staff, ancillary support, and state-of-the-art technology to deliver exceptional patient care in a supportive environment.
Opportunity:
Physician - Hematology Oncology
Job Details:
• Locum tenens position with a schedule primarily Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• Approximately 16 shifts per month (8 hours per shift)
• Patient volume of 16-20 patients per day, with flexibility in appointment scheduling
• Responsible for consults, follow-up care, and overseeing administration of antineoplastics in the clinic
• Minimal inpatient responsibilities with rare hospital visits for consults
• On-call coverage approximately one week and one weekend per month (phone calls only)
• Working with 2 Advanced Practice Providers (supervision not required)
• Excellent support staff including 2 nurses per provider, plus referral and triage nurses
• Additional ancillary support includes reception, lab, social worker, referrals, and dietician
• Services offered include antineoplastics, phlebotomies, IV IgG, iron therapy, and bone marrow biopsies
• Modern facility with 4 exam rooms, medical imaging, lab, and pharmacy services
• Patient population 18 years and older
• EPIC EMR system
• Teaching opportunities available
• Must be Board Certified in Hematology Oncology
• Must have active IA license or active IMLC
• Must be Fellowship Trained in Hematology Oncology
• Must be available full-time (Mon-Thurs)
• Must be able to perform MUA (medication use authorization)
• Clean malpractice/background required
• Experienced providers preferred, but new graduates will be considered
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
